ABOUT PANIMALAR

Panimalar Entrance Gate

Panimalar Engineering College (PEC) is located on Bangalore Trunk Road near Poonamallee, Chennai, with road connectivity to Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur districts, and convenient access to Chennai International Airport. The institution is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Sections 12(B) and 2(f). PEC was granted autonomous status during the academic year 2020–2021. Since 2006, two-thirds of the eligible programmes have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The institution was placed in the 51–100 band in the NIRF Innovation Ranking (ARIIA-2023). Over the past five years, the institution has produced 3,130 Scopus-indexed publications with a cumulative Scopus h-index of 75. PEC holds 289 patents, including 46 granted patents. Students have received national-level recognition through competitions such as the Smart India Hackathon and KAVACH 2023 Cyber Security Hackathon. With over 25 years of academic experience, Panimalar Engineering College offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and research-oriented education, supported by accreditation, autonomy, and industry collaboration.



ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Established in 2002, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has grown into a vibrant center of excellence offering state-of-the-art laboratories, strong industry collaboration, and quality education. The department is supported by highly qualified and experienced faculty, many of whom hold or pursue PhDs and engage in research areas such as advanced manufacturing, friction stir processing, nano-composites, alternative fuels, and tribology. Students have consistently excelled with multiple university ranks and gold medals, supported by comprehensive training in technical, soft skills, and career development programs. Value-added courses including CNC programming, CATIA, Piping Software, CFD, SAP, and GATE coaching enhance employability. With an impressive placement record, top recruiters include Yamaha, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra, F.L. Smidth, MRF, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and CTS. The department is NBA-accredited since 2008.

The International Conference on Modern Sustainable Engineering and Technology (ICMSET 2026) in collaboration with King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, aims to bring together leading academicians, researchers, industry experts, and practitioners from across the globe to share their insights, innovations, and breakthroughs in sustainable engineering. With rapid advancements in materials, energy technologies, intelligent systems, and mobility solutions, the global engineering community faces new challenges and opportunities in shaping a sustainable future. ICMSET 2026 provides a dynamic platform for presenting cutting-edge research, contemporary developments, and emerging trends that support global transitions toward low-carbon, resource-efficient, and smart engineering ecosystems.
